EAP / Professional Standards

From time to time, everyone experiences personal or work-related problems. Sometimes, these problems can overwhelm our normal coping strategies. Support from a trained peer or a referral to a mental health professional may prove helpful.

The AFA EAP helps members, their families and partners deal with concerns on and off the job that affect them. The AFA EAP is strongly committed to the health, safety and well-being of all of its members.

ANNOUNCING THE ARRIVAL OF “H2O”!!!

Water is essential to every living thing. It makes the difference between life and death. Oxygen is used to support and give life. We as flight attendants certainly know that when the use of the oxygen masks become necessary in flight, that we must first insure that WE have oxygen before we can assist others. It takes two, so take a deep breath! Help is on the way!!! Let’s join together to help each other!! Learn more here!

Confidentiality is the Cornerstone of the AFA EAP

Confidentiality provides an assurance to those who seek help that all identifying information will be safeguarded. Without this promise, many members needing assistance would not come forward.

Exception to Confidentiality

Duty to Warn – When a client’s behavior presents an immediate and imminent danger to self or others, an EAP rep may need to breach confidentiality to ensure safety, as stipulated by law.

With Release – An EAP rep may release information per a member’s request if there is proper written authorization.
